Valentine’s Day is always such a nice time to show our students that we care with a little extra something. Of course as teachers, we’d love to give them the world, but that’s usually not possible. Are you looking for some suggestions on Valentine gifts for students that won’t break the bank? Here are some inexpensive yet fun suggestions.

1. Pop Bracelets
You will be the most popular teacher in town giving these to your students. Pop-Its are definitely all the rage with kids now a days. The great thing is that you can find a pack for less than a dollar a bracelet.
These pop bracelets are also great for in class ELA activities.
- Great for teaching syllables.
- Fun to use to have kids keep individual scores when you’re doing a class game using task cards or other resources.
2. Heart Shaped Stress Balls
These stress balls are so good for students who suffer from anxiety. They are just the right size for their hands and unlike other fidget toys, they are quiet. Now, that’s a win!
These stress balls are also fun to use for in class games. Have students answer task card questions and for every question answered correctly, they get to shoot their ball into a basket. Make a fun competition.
3. Plastic Hand Clappers
Ok. You probably think I’ve lost my mind. Hear me out. I LOVE using plastic clappers in my class. We use them in a variety of ways:
- After a student presents, instead of clapping, we sometimes use our clappers.
- As we work in class, a student calls out an answer. Those who agree, shake their clappers.
4. Squishy Pals for Students
Class pets? You KNOW they’ll love these sweet squishy pals. They are squishy, cute, and just plain fun.
I’ve seen some teachers use them as desk pets. They reward students for good behavior. Students can then earn extra little gifts for their class pets.
I LOVE that these come in a little plastic holder with a string that can be attached to a keyring. Students can carry them around on their backpacks. Also, if you are a circuit user, I am sure you can label them with the students’ names.
So fun!
5. Play-Doh
Play-Doh has to be one of our favorite classroom supplies. We use them for anything grammar related when we can such as comma and quotation work mats.
We also like to use them for brain breaks or indoor recess. It’s one of the most versatile “toys” out there.
6. Pink Highlighters
These highlighter gifts are thoughtful and practical! Just add a cute tag that says “You’re the highlight of this year,” and it makes a perfect little Valentine gift without breaking the bank.
7. Pink Erasers
Nothing says Valentine’s Day like the color pink. Pink erasers are another practical gift that won’t break the bank. They are extremely useful for all that writing we do in the upper grades. Add a cute little tag that says “Nothing can erase how great I think you are.”
8. Pouches
Midway through the year, many of the students pouches are falling apart or missing. Giving them a pouch to keep all their pencils and some supplies in is a great idea.
These can also be used instead of gift bags. You can add any other Valentine gifts for students in here.
They come out to about 50 cents each. Now, that’s a deal!
9. Push Lead Pencils
Do you remember how much you loved these push lead pencils as a kid? They were such a novelty, and I am sure our students will love these as well.
Add a little tag that say, “I think you are just WRITE, Valentine.”
10. Bookmark Valentine Gifts for Students
Bookmarks are always a great gift. They help promote reading while sending a sweet message to your students. You can gift your students these FREE Valentine’s Day Bookmarks this Valentine’s Day.
